Rugbytots Comes to Herefordshire!

Children in the county will be jumping for joy to hear that Rugbytots classes are going to be coming to towns across Herefordshire.

Rugbytots Comes to Herefordshire!

Rugbytots is the first of its kind; a specifically designed play programme (aimed at children between the ages of 2 and 7), using the multiple skills of Rugby to create a fun and enjoyable environment whilst developing basic core motor skills. The programme has been specifically designed to develop a child’s physical, physiological and social attributes.

Rugbytots was created in 2006 to fill a gap in the child development sector by introducing children to Rugby in a fun, dynamic and structured environment. All sessions are run by fully trained staff that bring energy and enthusiasm to classes in order to create a fun and engaging atmosphere that will ultimately build confidence in all participants. Parents and carers are encouraged to take an active role in classes, giving them the opportunity to spend time together in a positive and uplifting environment. Rugbytots is also available to nurseries, pre-school and schools.

Classes for children of all abilities are starting in Leominster at Bridge Street Sports Centre and in Hereford at Hereford Sixth Form College from 28th February. Classes will launch in Ross on Wye and Ledbury shortly after, and in other parts of the county during 2015.

Rugbytots Comes to Herefordshire!Franchise owner Lizzie Davidson was brought up watching rugby with her dad, and played the game during her time at Harper Adams University College, she has attended the Ladies Touch Rugby sessions which are currently being run at Luctonians Sports Club, where her husband Alex Davidson is Director of Rugby.

Said Lizzie ‘Our first experience of Rugbytots was our oldest son Tommy attending classes a couple of years ago in Hereford, he absolutely loved it and we felt that the sessions were engaging and great for his confidence. He saw the coach as a role model which was an important factor for us. Unfortunately the classes stopped, and shortly after our second son arrived, I decided to apply to for the franchise myself, there hasn’t been a moment to spare since then. We have had a high level of interest, with plenty of classes full up already and well over 100 children due to attend free taster sessions before the term starts, we can’t wait to meet Herefordshire’s Rugbytots!’

Rugbytots gives children a fun and dynamic introduction to rugby from which they can move on to their local rugby club where they can progress from mini rugby right up to senior level.
